Jade Kershaw and Stephen Kellett
RelATe is the NIHR funded ‘Relational Approach to Treating Self-Harm feasibility Randomised Controlled Trial of 8-session cognitive analytic therapy (CAT) for people that self-harm. This workshop will be a co-production and co-presentation between a CAT psychotherapist and a patient participant from the trial. The therapist (SK) will explain how CAT was delivered according to the 8-session protocol, present the CCAT scores and the clinical outcomes. Segments from sessions will be played. The patient participant (JK) will describe her experience of CAT, what worked, what didn’t and how CAT differed from previous psychological interventions. Through attending the workshop, therapists will have a better understanding of how to create and maintain the ‘loose tight’ focus that brief CAT demands.
Jade Kershaw is a resident of Rotherham and she works full time in administration.
Stephen Kellett is a CAT psychotherapist and he works on the inpatient psychiatric wards of Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber (RDaSH) NHS Foundation Trust (4 days per week) and is a Director of Clinical Research (1 day per week).
